Mary, “Baby Helen” was born in Flora, Mississippi on August 22, 1939 to Herman L. Renfroe and his wife Mary Helen. Both parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Glyen S. Edwards; her children Glyen Edwards, Jr. (Sandie), Mark Edwards (Michele), Donna Edwards Perkins (Ronnie); and Frank Edwards all of Pelahatchie, Mississippi. In addition to her husband and children she is survived by her brother Herman Renfroe (Jackie) of Flora, Mississippi; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Mary was a beloved wife to her husband and mother to her children. She loved and cared for her family beyond measure. She was especially happy when all of her family would gather at her home for meals and fellowship.
She did have, however, a second “family” formed during her prior employment at Walmart where she worked for over 25 years. While working, she formed close and valued friendships with Marilyn Barrett and Minnie Hall. She enjoyed her work at Walmart and took pride in performing a superior job.
During her illness, Mary Helen was cared for at home by her husband Glyen and her family, and by Lola Russell and Mrs. Russell’s two daughters. The care provided by these ladies was greatly appreciated by the family.
