Obituary for Dale M Lewis
Dale Martin Lewis, 78, left this physical earth and went to his heavenly home on Sunday, March 28, 2021, at Baptist Attala Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Kosciusko First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12 noon until 2:00 pm at Kosciusko First Baptist Church.
Rev. Barry Corbett and Rev. Gene Richardson will officiate.
Dale was born in Grenada, MS, on November 3, 1942, to Sally Elizabeth Martin and William Aron “Joe” Lewis, Sr. He was a graduate of Durant High School and Mississippi State University. He retired after more than 30 years in education. Over the years, he held many instructor, coach, and administrative positions with Lexington High School, Durant High School, East Holmes Academy, and Holmes Junior/Community College. He also retired after 21 years with the Mississippi Army National Guard.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, his precious son-in-law Danny Burrell and his brother Billy Lewis.
He is survived by his adored wife of 54 years, Gladys Marie “Tottie” Lewis, his daughter Sheri Burrell of Sallis, MS and his daughter Wendy Grace and her husband Bill of Kosciusko, MS. Dale is also survived by five grandchildren, Hunter Burrell, Britt Grace, Kaylee Grace, River Burrell, and Drew Grace.
